The Rise of PDT

The Rise of the Primitive Disciples: Highlighting the Final 6 of the PDT

The Primitive Disciple Tournament (PDT), a collaboration between Primitive NY and Artist Outlook, brought together one of the rawest displays of underground talent we’ve seen in a minute. Over 40 artists submitted, 26 battled it out, and only 6 rose to the top to earn their place as the first official Primitive Disciples. Each artist came with their own style, story, and drive, and together they represent the future of underground music.

Here’s a closer look at the final six

KBS (Middletown/Newport, Rhode Island)

KBS has been proving that self-drive and passion can take you far. With a sound rooted in versatility, he’s constantly pushing boundaries and showing range. PDT gave him an even sharper edge, boosting his confidence and solidifying his place among the Disciples. Now, KBS is locked in, ready to prove why he belongs on the big stage.

YSK Rico

A familiar name in the underground, YSK Rico has been covered multiple times on Song Wars and early Artist Outlook reviews. Known for his talent, humility, and unshakable confidence, Rico is a force who knows his worth. He continues to make serious noise and carries himself like an artist destined for something bigger.

Deucee

If versatility had a face, it would be Deucee. With a unique sound that cuts through the underground clutter, he’s shown again and again that he can’t be boxed in. A standout moment came with his track “Liar Lair”, which caught attention for its creativity and energy. In the PDT, he battled hard and left a mark as one of the tournament’s most unpredictable threats.

blakkst4r (Bronx, NY)

Born and raised in the Bronx, blakkst4r stands out through his authenticity and passion. “I live for this music,” he says, crediting his crew KMS as the driving force behind his artistry. His PDT run was a story in itself starting with a heated rivalry against his brother Mehki, surviving tough battles against top-ranked artists, and pushing all the way to the finals against the number-one seed. It was a true underdog run that he compares to Jimmy Butler taking the Heat to the Finals. Win or lose, blakkst4r proved he belongs.

Different Breed Noah (DBN) Mansfield, Texas

DBN lives up to his name. What sets him apart is his refusal to cuss or lean on subjects like drugs and sex. Instead, he focuses on positive messages and his faith, building a unique lane for himself. During the PDT, his approach stood out as refreshing and impactful, reminding everyone that different perspectives can still thrive in a competitive space.

Siins

One of the biggest surprises of the tournament, Siins came in without much name recognition but left as one of the final six. His performances impressed throughout the PDT, and he’s a prime example of why opportunities like this matter sometimes all an artist needs is a platform to show what they can do. Expect to hear his name a lot more moving forward.

Final Thoughts

The Primitive Disciple Tournament wasn’t just about competition it was about discovery, growth, and community. From heated rivalries to breakout moments, every round pushed the artists to showcase their best. Out of 26 who battled, the six who remainKBS, YSK Rico, Deucee, blakkst4r, Different Breed Noah, and Siins earned their titles as the first Primitive Disciples.
