Hailing from Jersey and now calling Jacksonville home, 17-year-old GlokkRequired — born Jariel Garcia — is part of the new wave of raw, underground talent reshaping the sound of today. With five years in Florida behind him, he’s channeling his upbringing and influences into a style that’s hard to define but impossible to ignore.

A New Voice in the Underground

GlokkRequired doesn’t try to fit into any box. While some might call it rage or underground trap, his music lives in the now — the kind you catch blasting at kickbacks or soundtracking late-night drives. Inspired heavily by artists like Che and Osamason, Jariel draws from their relentless energy and unconventional flows to shape his own art.

For GlokkRequired, it’s all about giving people the energy he feels when he hits play on his own music. Every track is made to get people hyped — not just at shows or in cars, but in spirit. Still, that doesn’t mean his journey’s been easy.

From Doubt to Drive

Like many artists coming up in the underground scene, confidence and finances have been major roadblocks. Growing up without a lot of money made it hard to invest in studio time, promotion, or equipment. But the hunger to succeed outweighs the hardship.

“I come from a poor lifestyle and I honestly wanna make it out with this music stuff.”

Even self-doubt has had its moments.

“I think that my music isn’t good and that I ain’t worthy of this underground music shit.”

But one thing about GlokkRequired? He keeps showing up — and that’s what separates the dreamers from the doers.

Dream Collaborations and Future Moves

If given the chance, GlokkRequired says he’d love to collaborate with Osamason, Rexv2, or Che. And that might not be far off — especially with platforms like Song Wars creating space for new voices to be heard.

“I think that Song Wars opens a lot of opportunities for underground artists. Since it’s still growing every day, it gives a lot of people chances in music.”

GlokkRequired represents a new generation of artists using the mic as both a weapon and a lifeline. He’s proof that even when you come from nothing, your voice can still be everything.
