Meet Insight’s Misery: The Voice of Hope Within Despair

Hailing from the cold edges of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Insight’s Misery is an artist who turns emotional turmoil into melodic storytelling. His journey into music wasn’t sparked by fame or trends, but by the encouragement of a friend and a lifelong relationship with music.

“I started music due to my friend NVRLND—he encouraged me to start making music. Artists like Juice WRLD, XXXTentacion, and Lil Peep also played a huge part in feeding that desire. I’ve always been extremely music-oriented my whole life.”

While his musical roots are deep, the evolution of his sound continues to grow thanks to newer inspirations like @_residential, who influences his current sonic direction. But Insight’s Misery isn’t just a vocalist—he’s been involved in music production since he was just 11 years old, giving him a seasoned perspective on how to shape and sculpt his art.

Like many emerging artists, his journey hasn’t been free of obstacles.

“Writer’s block and mixing were big challenges early on. And then, there’s trying to flow into the algorithm to ‘blow up’—but to be honest, I don’t want fame. I just want to express and connect.”

It’s this raw authenticity that makes his music stand out. He doesn’t aim to sugarcoat life or package pain into perfect verses. Instead, he leans into the duality of emotion—hope and despair—and offers listeners a space to process their own.

“When people listen to my music, I want them to feel hope, but also despair. It’s okay to find comfort in negative emotions. Tapping into them can help you in the long run. My music tells a story—it’s up to you and your memories, your consciousness, and your ‘insight’ to find what it means for you.”

In an industry often focused on surface-level image or viral attention, Insight’s Misery brings something deeper: reflection. His work reminds us that not everything is 100% okay—and that’s okay too.
