DBD:A Young Dallas Star
DBD: Versatility in Motion from 65 GroveSide
For DBD, also known as DoneyBDoney, music isn’t just a sound—it’s a calling born from passion, energy, and a fearless sense of expression. What started as casual freestyles in the car with friends in 2019 quickly turned into something deeper. “They always told me, ‘You can rap, that flow was lit,’” he recalls. Taking that advice, DBD recorded his first track, “Come Feel the Weather,” and something clicked. “The passion I had making that song felt real and not forced. That’s when I realized I love this.”
Drawing inspiration from genre-bending icons like Tyler, The Creator, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, and Baby Keem, DBD’s sound is melody-driven, unpredictable, and fully his own. “Different vibes, different flows,” he explains. “I want people to feel the energy I put into my music—no matter what kind of beat it is.”
Representing 65 GroveSide in Dallas, TX, DBD brings Southern roots with a universal sound. And while many artists talk about struggle, DBD approaches his journey with a rare optimism. “I haven’t faced any challenges yet, to be honest,” he says. “I’m knowing that everything is for my good—so I’m ready, with the help of God.”
Currently, DBD is focused on expanding his reach and pushing his creative boundaries. “I’m working on my second tape called Earphone Tape 2. It’s coming soon, so be ready.” In the meantime, he’s taking to the stage at open mics around Dallas—sharing his energy in real time, building a name that echoes far beyond the city.
With unmatched versatility and heart, DBD is more than just another voice in the underground—he’s one of the few truly ready to switch the frequency.
